   Benefits of Membership in
                     VOAD

Many are aware of the work done by
Volunteer Organizations Active
in Disasters (VOAD).

For those less familiar, this is the
one organization recognized by each
state as the clearing house for
all major players in disaster response.

Most states charge $25 per year to
be a member of VOAD.

In each state, you will meet and
become partners with the most
effective responder groups in your area.

This is the group that is called by your state's Office of
Emergency Management, when a disaster is assumed.

CBF is no longer a bit player in the disaster response
business.

With more than $1,500,000 spent from donations in the
United States, and over $2,500,000 in labor given by
over 2,000 responders in the last two and one-half years,
we are here to stay.

We are no longer going to "fly under the radar." Instead,
we are going to be one of the first consulted in offering
assistance to
each state, other groups and even FEMA.

To be ready in your area, you must be in touch with VOAD
in your state.

To find your local contact, go to
www.nvoad.org/membersdb.php?members=State

You will see your state information.

Call or email them and become a member today.

Once your membership is established, let me know.

I will be representing CBF at the national conference
in May, and would like to announce that all our CBF state
organizations are members of VOAD.

If you wonder if there is real benefit to membership,
call or write Mike Young, in Tennessee.

You might want to check this site weekly for updates
on our preparedness.

Together, we will make a difference in people's lives.
